Sugar Land's Defense Attorney

My experience as a Texas criminal defense attorney
Twenty one years ago David began his career as a prosecutor for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. He remained there for seven years before moving on to his private practice. David is board-certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice now represents federal and state criminal matters for individuals and corporations. A large area of David’s practice has been dedicated to representing individuals who have been charged with Driving while Intoxicated / Driving Under the Influence. David has also completed the DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing program successfully, a program used to train law enforcement officers in detecting intoxicated drivers. David also handles commercial disputes and injury matters.
Why am I an attorney?
The responsibility of representing an individual, more often than not the "little guy," whose freedom, and well-being is at stake or whose life has been catastrophically altered, against all of the resources open to the government is very challenging.
What sets me apart from other defense attorneys?
David has a very strong devotion to his family. He has a great amount of courtroom trial experience. He has worked on the opposite side of the docket from which he now practices. As a result, he readies his cases with the insight of how the government, opposing lawyers and insurance companies are likely to operate, respond, and evaluate cases. David is very involved in the professional associations that support his areas of practice. David is a member of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, he is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a member of the Houston Bar Association and a member of the National College for DUI Defense, Inc.
What is David's philosophy for success?
Live each and every day as if it could be your last. Knowing that what he has done and how he lived will be how his children will remember him.
Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. 12 For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. 13 This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.
What this means for my clients?
I prepare for war in every case, with the knowlege that the Lord is in charge of your future not a prosecutor or persecutor and I will do my absolute best for every client. Contact Harris County attorney David Kiatta via email or call his office to schedule a free, one hour, office visit.
